Terms & Conditions

Delivery and Pickup

We will deliver free within our local Malmesbury and Tetbury area, and will offer very reasonable rates for anywhere else.

Delivery, fees, and collection date and times are to be agreed between the "hirer" (as signed below) and "Lavender and Linen" at the time of booking.

Times are approximate and "Lavender and Linen" cannot be held responsible for delays, however we will endeavour to keep any such delay to an absolute minimum.

The "hirer" must inspect and sign for the goods at the time of delivery. At this point, if there is any problem with the order such as damage or shortage, the "hirer" must note this down on the delivery note. If the "hirer" fails to do this the goods will be deemed to have been delivered in a clean an undamaged condition.

If there is no-one available on delivery to check the goods, again the goods will be deemed to have been delivered in a clean and undamaged condition.

The goods

The "hirer" is solely responsible for all goods during the period of hire, from the time of delivery until the time they are collected by "Lavender and Linen" staff. All goods remain the property of "Lavender and Linen". The "hirer" is responsible for the goods from the time of delivery until the time of collection. This responsibility includes the safekeeping and protection of the goods in the "hirer’s" care.

All hired items will be a mix of ages, design patterns, colours, sizes and shapes, and no guarantee can be made on the exact designs supplied, unless items have been specifically chosen at a viewing prior to booking.

The age and fragile nature of the crockery means that they will damage easily, therefore extra care when handling is required. This also means that some wear due to age is to be expected. It is the "hirer’s" responsibility to inform the caterer and/or venue staff of the fragile nature of the crockery.

Any item damaged, chipped, broken or missing must be identified and reported to "Lavender and Linen" staff on collection.

Any item found to be damaged, chipped, broken or missing by "Lavender and Linen" staff that has not been reported at collection will be reported to the "hirer" within 3 days of collection.

A charge of £30 will be made for each teapot, platter, or cake stand damaged, chipped, broken or missing; a charge of £5 per item will made for any other item damaged, chipped, broken or missing. This must be paid within 10 days of the event date.

No responsibility can be accepted for any injury or damage caused by the hired or purchased goods or their packaging, however caused.

We will wash the items free of charge; they must not be put through a dishwasher.

Fees and payment

For all goods please ensure that excess food and drink is removed. If this does not occur a £30 charge will be made.

On receiving your confirmation booking we require your deposit (20% of the total cost) and a signed copy of these terms and conditions.

Balance of payment is due at least 10 days prior to your event.

Any items held beyond the agreed period will be charged at double the normal hire rate per day.

Cancellations

If the booking is cancelled by the "hirer" a full refund will be provided with 10 days or more notice; there will be no refund if less than 10 days’ notice is given.

Notification of cancellation must be provided in writing (by letter or email) by the "hirer".
